The Carolina Farm Stewardship Assn. Tour will be April 28-29. Beginning at 12 noon on both days, lamb burgers, lamb dogs, and gyros will be available . On the evening of April 28, a five course wine dinner will be served in the Farm House at 6:30 pm. Cost will be $75 per person all inclusive.

Marco Shaw of Piedmont Restaurant in Durham will be the chef for Captain John’s Fifth Annual Dinner.. Marco grew up in the Washington D.C. area and is a 1991 graduate of Randolph-Macon College. Intending to take a one year break before entering medical school , he went to work at The Tobacco Company Restaurant in Richmond, VA. He fell in love with the business and pursued an AD in Culinary Arts and Hotel Restaurant Management. He then traveled the U.S. cooking at restaurants in New York City, New Orleans, Santa Fe and Portland, OR. He opened Fife Restaurant in Portland in 2002. Moving to Durham, he opened Piedmont Restaurant in 2010 with several local partners.
